Next time your out shopping, grab some baby spinach and don’t be shy when you add it to your daily smoothie (if you’re not having a daily smoothie, you need to start. They are a powerhouse of nutrition, they taste great and they are quick to make.
Your body can absorb more of the vitamins and minerals than if you ate the fruits and vegetables whole. Many of the nutrients are stuck in the fiber and by blending fruits and vegetables, you break down the fiber and release the vital nutrients into a form your body can more easily use.
Brain Power Smoothie:
6 – 8 ounces of organic apple juice, almond milk or rice milk
¼ cup frozen organic blueberries or other frozen organic fruit
2 TBS of freshly ground organic flax seed
1 ripe banana
¼ cup organic strawberries
Put in smoothie maker or blend and enjoy twice a day for awesome mental alertness and ability to think clearer.

Green smoothies are awesome! I have one every morning and afternoon. I’ve been branching out and using other greens with my smoothie because I was getting stuck in a “spinach rut”. Parsley, collards and chard are good, but I tried dandelion greens and that took a little getting used to.
